Fairtex SP5 Competition Shin Guards: lightweight, seamless shin-and-instep protection in premium PU, made without a metal loop to meet amateur competition rules.

Fairtex Competition Shin Guards SP5

Built for fight night as much as the gym, the Fairtex Competition Shin Guards SP5 give you reliable shin and instep protection without the bulk. Handmade in Thailand, they are designed to stay light and close to the leg so your kicks, checks and teeps feel fast and natural, round after round.

Made for competition

Many amateur Muay Thai and kickboxing events have strict rules on protective equipment, and metal fittings are often not allowed. The Fairtex Competition Shin Guards SP5 are made without the metal loop found on many traditional shin guards, so they are ready for the ring as well as the gym. If you compete, it makes sense to train in the same guards you will fight in, and the SP5 lets you do exactly that.

Seamless shin and instep protection

The shin and instep sections are formed as one continuous piece, joined without stitching. With no weak seam between the two, there is nothing to split, dig in or twist out of place when you land a kick or check one. The result is a cleaner, more secure guard that moves with your leg and covers the instep properly, which is where cheaper guards often let you down.

Padding and materials

A double layer of high-density foam sits behind a premium PU outer. The foam is shaped to follow the natural line of the shin, spreading the force of each impact and protecting both you and your training partner. The PU finish is hard-wearing and easy to wipe clean, so the Fairtex Competition Shin Guards SP5 will stand up to regular sparring, bag work and pad sessions.

Sizing

The Fairtex Competition Shin Guards SP5 are available in small, medium and large. As a rough guide, small suits juniors and lighter adults, medium fits most adults, and large is best for taller or heavier fighters with longer shins. The guard should cover the shin from just below the knee down to the ankle, with the instep pad sitting over the top of the foot. The Fairtex size chart is included in the image gallery above, and if you are between sizes our team is always happy to help.

Who are they for?

These guards are a great fit for anyone who trains Muay Thai, kickboxing or K1-style striking regularly. Beginners get a well-made, comfortable guard that will last well beyond the first few months of training, while experienced fighters get a slim, competition-ready option that doesn’t slow their kicks down. Coaches also like them for students who are starting to spar and compete, because one pair covers both. If you train several times a week and want a single pair of shin guards that does it all, these are an excellent choice.

Four colours

Choose from white, black, red or blue. Red and blue are a popular choice for competition corners, while black and white match almost any kit. Each pair carries the classic Fairtex branding and Thai-made finish.

Care tips

After training, wipe your shin guards down with a damp cloth and let them air-dry fully before packing them away. Storing them open, rather than zipped in a bag, helps keep them fresh and protects the foam and PU for longer.
